Welcome to our website, and – if you have not yet joined us in worship – we hope to see you in person soon.
Our main worship is High Mass each Sunday morning at 11 am, to which we welcome people from a wide variety of backgrounds who find a positive and encouraging environment in which to worship.
On these pages, you will find details of our liturgy, our music, the facilities we have for children, our worship times, and other events taking place in the next few weeks.
We are proud of our Anglo-Catholic tradition, but our worship is inclusive. It doesn't matter if you don't stand up or sit down at the same time as everyone else, or if you don't feel comfortable making the sign of the cross. Just come and sit, watch and listen, sing and pray with us and stay for coffee afterwards. The service book we use will also give you more explanations about what we do in our services and why.
St Michael and All Saints Church is part of the Diocese of Edinburgh, one of the seven historic Dioceses in the Scottish Episcopal Church. The Scottish Episcopal Church (SEC) is part of the Anglican Communion, an association of churches in full communion with the Church of England, and specifically with its Primate, the Archbishop of Canterbury. The SEC participates within the Communion through its representation at Lambeth Conferences, and meetings of Primates and the Anglican Consultative Council. In addition to its membership of the Anglican Communion, the SEC has entered into several formal agreements with churches across Europe, such as the Porvoo Agreement, and has close relationships with other British denominations. Further details can be found on the SEC website, by clicking here.
